MATERIAL SELECTION
All materials are chosen with purpose and patience, guided by a commitment to lasting quality. We select only the highest-grade materials to complement each piece, sourcing globally from partners who share our values of integrity, aesthetic quality, and sustainability. All lumber is sustainably sourced and/or salvaged from naturally fallen trees.
TECHNIQUE
Time-honored techniques are the foundation of quality, integrity, and lasting beauty. They craft pieces that endure in form and spirit, shaped by generations of knowledge. The result is work that feels alive, built with patience and skill, never rushed or disposable.
Our furniture is designed using mortise-and-tenon joinery, one of the oldest woodworking techniques, valued for structural strength, durability, and beauty. Mortise-and-tenon joints accommodate natural wood movement better than mechanical fasteners, relying on geometry and craftsmanship rather than hardware to achieve integrity. In art, we use the traditional Japanese urauchi method to mount each relief print, honoring the texture and character of the original while preserving it for generations.
CONSERVATION
We honor every material we use, working primarily with sustainably sourced and salvaged lumber. As an act of stewardship, we proudly plant new trees each year and are committed to expanding this effort.
